Information we collect
We collect information you provide when requesting a quote, booking work, contacting us or becoming a customer. This may include your name, email address, telephone number, company, property address or postcode, service requirements, access details and correspondence. We also keep contractual, certification, invoicing and payment records. Do not send special-category information unless it is necessary for us to safely deliver the service.
How and why we use it
We use personal information to answer enquiries and prepare quotes; schedule and deliver electrical services; issue reports, certificates and invoices; maintain safety, quality and business records; prevent fraud and misuse; and meet legal, tax, insurance and regulatory duties. Our legal bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the business. We ask for consent where the law requires it.
Sharing and processors
We share information only where needed with engineers, professional advisers, insurers, certification or scheme providers, payment and accounting providers, IT and communications suppliers, and public authorities where legally required. Website enquiries are processed through Netlify Forms. Suppliers may process data outside the UK; where this occurs, we require an appropriate UK transfer safeguard or another lawful transfer mechanism.
Retention
Unsuccessful enquiry records are normally retained for up to 24 months. Contract, certificate, accounting and tax records are normally retained for at least six years after the relevant transaction or for longer where safety, insurance, warranty or legal requirements justify it. We securely delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Contact us using the details above. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We do not use website enquiry data for solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
Security and updates
We use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet transmission is completely secure. We may update this notice when our services or legal obligations change; the effective date identifies the current version.
