How often do I need an EICR in Westminster?
Private landlords in England must have the fixed installation inspected at least every five years under the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020. Offices, shops and hotels are normally inspected every five years, industrial premises every three years and owner-occupied homes every ten years, unless the previous report recommends a shorter interval.
How quickly can you complete an EICR in Westminster?
Most flats and small houses take two to four hours on site and most small commercial units can be tested in a day. Larger buildings are tested in planned phases, including out of hours where needed. The digital report is normally issued within one to three working days.
What happens if the EICR is unsatisfactory?
Any C1 (danger present), C2 (potentially dangerous) or FI (further investigation) observation makes the report unsatisfactory.
