You’ll get a full test of emergency and escape lighting — duration, illumination levels and function — checked against BS 5266.
Short monthly function tests and the full annual duration test both scheduled and logged.
Testing follows your actual fire escape plan, not just a generic luminaire list.
Any unit failing duration or function gets a same-visit report, not a delayed write-up.
Monthly is a brief function check; the annual test verifies full duration under simulated mains failure — both are required.
The building needs to run on emergency lighting for the full rated duration, typically 1–3 hours depending on system size.
Yes, all emergency luminaires on the escape route plan are included.
Send the site postcode and we'll confirm a survey slot and fixed price.
BS 5266-1:2025 requires a short monthly function test of every fitting and a full rated-duration test (usually three hours) every year, with all results recorded in the logbook.
The annual duration test should be carried out by a competent person. We test outside trading hours where needed because the fittings need time to recharge afterwards.
You receive an emergency lighting certificate, an updated logbook and a list of failed fittings or batteries with a fixed remedial quotation.
